Protecting the children is one of most important roles of parents. Be it in school, be it at home or in the playground. As much as we want to keep them safe all the time, there are times when parents are not around to supervise the kids. A very good example of this is when children access the internet. Although the internet is a great resource for information, it is now used by many individuals for criminal activities. Inappropriate content – in many websites, there are countless advertisements for games or other activities that may attract the attention of children. However, this links could take them to websites that is not appropriate for their age. These websites can contain inappropriate content such as illegal or dangerous activities, violent and hateful in nature and sexual content.
Physical molestation – our kids are fond of accessing social media websites where they get to correspond with their friends and classmates. However, the social media can also be a place where they meet strangers and courtship is a possibility. When they involve themselves with strangers, they are prone to physical molestation especially when they practice face-to-face meetings with people they meet in the internet.
Viruses and malwares – children are curious in nature and when they see something that will catch their attention, they will immediately click them. When they do this, there is a possibility that they will download viruses, malwares and fraudulent softwares that could filter confidential information from your computer.
