Kids and teens can use computer and internet safely, that’s if we parents are diligent enough to put extra work to set-up safety features on our computers and save our kids from inappropriate things lurking all over the internet.
Though there’s no 100% guarantee that kids won’t be exposed to pornography or other inappropriate and harmful images there in online, we always have the tools to minimize the risks. Also, parents can check their browser history to see what sites their kids visit and how they use the time they spend on their computers. Check Internet Browser History
Try to check your internet’s browser history regularly. Your kids may know how to delete things in browser history, but you can always know the time missing on its records.
Install Parental Internet Control Software Programs
Parental Internet software are usually paid products or with annual subscription. The best way to do this is to search and download it right in your computer. Most software programs allow users to set their customizations and settings, download reports, and alert/update parents on the computer and internet activities of their kids aside from limiting inappropriate contents and blocking websites. Also, most programs available for downloads are can be installed on multiple computers, allowing parents to access the reports without physically having to check it on the computer they’re monitoring.
Asses your kids’ computer duration
Look at the browsing history and internet activity reports of your kids and asses whether you need to talk to them about it. Explain to them clearly why you’re monitoring their computer and internet use and make them understand the importance of responsible internet use.
If any problems arise, consider limiting the time your kids can access the internet through internet control software, or simply block those sites that can be of bad influence to them.
